This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team of web designers and developers in our central Bristol office. We're a well-established and successful digital agency and you'll be working with high profile clients such as WWF, Médecins Sans Frontières, University of Oxford, Greenpeace and Museum of London.
Who we are looking for
Great web design is so much more than making something that looks nice. Meeting user needs and business objectives through smart, thoughtful design is what drives us, so as a junior designer at Torchbox you must understand and appreciate user-centred and UX design principles. We are looking for someone who is passionate about UX design and can demonstrate strong aesthetic sensibilities.
We expect you to;
have an interest in and experience of how analytics, personas, user research & surveys and user-testing play a part in the design process,
be able to demonstrate how you have kept users in mind within your portfolio work
be able to produce high quality creative design deliverables with great attention to detail,
use techniques such as sketching, mood-boarding, user research and wireframing to solve design problems,
be able to speak confidently about design decisions to other team members, and strive to justify these with user research,
be able to capture and respond effectively to both client and internal feedback and take direction from senior design team members (collaboration and communication with other Torchbox team members such as UX designers, Project Managers and developers is integral to the role),
contribute to and attend client-facing design/UX workshops such as design briefing sessions and user-testing,
have some experience of writing HTML & CSS and with a good knowledge of current web trends and technologies. (we often 'design in the browser', as HTML prototyping has emerged as a great way to design modern, responsive websites, so experience of this process is a plus)
What we offer
Torchbox is full of friendly people, which makes it a great place to work. We'll offer;
an amazing new office space right in the heart of Bristol
lots of activities outside of work such as paddle-boarding, city mazes and pub quizzes (we have also taken the whole team skiing in the French Alps several times)
salary commensurate with experience plus performance-related bonus
25 days annual leave
We want to hear about your professional experience, college work, and personal projects you’re most proud of. If you're interested, please apply now including links to your portfolio. Closing date: 24th March
Torchbox is an equal opportunities employer. No agencies please.
